ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (July 2, 2024) — Nabila Saam, a Psychology, International Business-Management major from Moline, IL, (61265) is one of more than fifteen Augustana College students recently elected to serve as Student Government Association (SGA) senators. Saam was elected Sophomore Class Senator for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Augustana's SGA is an organization made up of over forty student representatives that have been elected to serve as the liaison between the student body and the faculty, staff, and administration of the college.

SGA's mission is to voice the needs and opinions of the student body in an effort to grow Augustana's academic, cultural, and social life. To do this, senators work in committees to develop changes in college policies, promote student-led initiatives, create awareness campaigns, and coordinate campus events.

Augustana College is a vibrant, welcoming liberal-arts college located on a 115-acre campus in the Quad Cities (pop 400,000) along the Mississippi River. Augustana, a residential campus, has 100 majors and programs, 160 student organizations, and 28 varsity athletic teams.

The college enrolls 2,500 students in a metro area that provides access to many career-paths and hands-on learning opportunities, including internships, jobs, student teaching, and research sites.
