ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (March 7, 2025) — Augustana College promoted Public Safety Officer Craig Weeks to sworn officer of Augustana’s Office of Police and Public Safety March 5.

Friends and family gathered at Augustana’s Hamann Concert Hall in Bergendoff Hall for the swearing in by Vice President and Dean of Student Life Dr Wes Brooks. Dr Brooks commended Weeks for his committed and continued service to Augustana’s students, faculty, and staff.

“Officer Weeks has honorably served Augustana for nearly four years, and we’re thrilled to have him continue his passion for public service at Augustana,” said Dr Brooks. “Safety at Augustana is a top priority, and we’re thankful to all members of Police and Public Safety for contributing to a safe learning and working environment for all members.”

Officer Weeks will begin attending the part-time police academy in Springfield in April.

Chief of Police Tom Phillis said he is proud to promote Officer Weeks.

“He has a dedication and passion for protecting our community that has motivated him to want to increase his role within our department and with the college,” said Chief Phillis.
