BEREA, OHIO (June 17, 2019) — Alex Packard of Davenport was among 26 Baldwin Wallace University students who spent the spring 2019 semester learning off campus. With support from the BW Study Abroad Center's Independent Study program, students created individualized immersion experiences in Australia, Austria, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Scotland, and Sweden.
Packard, a graduate of Bettendorf High School majoring in acting, traveled to London, England for an individualized immersion experience at Kingston University. Kingston is a public-research university located in Kingston-upon-Thames in southwest London. It hosts about 24,720 students with a sixth of that figure being international students from over 151 countries.
The BW Study Abroad Center engages students through global exploration and off-campus study that enhances personal growth, educational enrichment, and career development as part of the university's liberal-arts effort to cultivate contributing and compassionate citizens. Through faculty-led and independent-study-abroad opportunities, students can build strong communication skills, enhanced critical thinking, and personal confidence from trekking the unknown.
