"Elvis Meets the Beatles" at the Ohnward Fine Arts Center -- October 19.

Saturday, October 19, 7 p.m.

Ohnward Fine Arts Center, 1215 East Platt Street, Maquoketa IA

A thrilling stage spectacle that imagines a concert that never happened but that everyone wishes did, the touring sensation Elvis Meets the Beatles lands at Maquoketa's Ohnward Fine Arts Center on October 19, with touring and recording artist Everett Dean offering his acclaimed take on Presley, and the pop quintet The Fab Lads delivering a vocally accurate rendition of the lads from Liverpool.

Everett Dean started his music career by winning his first music contest at the age of 12, and since then he has been perfecting his electrifying style of music. He and his backing group, The Lonesome Hearts, are one of the nation’s hottest tribute bands, while Dean also serves as the focal point in the musical trilogy The Killer, the King, & Cash: A Tribute to the Music of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis & Johnny Cash. He also fronts the solo Elvis-tribute presentation, Elvis: Remembering the King, and was featured at the Icon Theater in Branson, Missouri, in such shows as Jukebox Journey: A History of 50’s and 60’s Rock 'n' Roll, as well as The Rockabilly Kings: A Tribute to the Legends of Rockabilly Music.

In addition, the vocal artist has recorded three CDs of original music: the self-titled Everett Dean, Honey Poppin’ Daddy, and Ten Foot Pole, with his new single "Honeypoppin’" a combination of rockabilly, hip-hop, and electronica, and available for download on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify. During his years of professional performance, Dean Everett has also appeared with such nationally and internationally known acts as: Chuck Berry; Chubby Checker; Tanya Tucker; Blue Oyster Cult; Big & Rich; Bill Haley’s Comets; and Peter Noone of Herman’s Hermits.

Joining Dean in Elvis Meets the Beatles, The Fab Lads will take audiences on a Magical Musical Tour of the various eras of the world's most popular band. The Fab Lads, as a concept, goes back nearly a decade as members of the Lonesome Hearts Band discussed the idea of forming a Beatles tribute band. Plans began to firm up in 2021 and finally came together in 2022 as they played their initial shows. Through the use of period appropriate costumes, vintage instruments, and amplifiers, as well as multiple multi-media presentations, the Fab Lads bring the bygone days of the Beatles to life for the enjoyment of all.

Elvis Meets the Beatles comes to Maquoketa on October 19, admission to the 7 p.m. concert event is $15-28, and more information and tickets are available by calling (563)652-9815 and visiting OhnwardFineArtsCenter.com.
