Returning to the organization after 10 years of leadership under David Bowlin, Chamber Music Quad Cities founders, brothers, and Davenport natives Thomas and Gregory Sauer will perform alongside Bowlin in the fall concert for the ensemble's 24th season.
Pianist Thomas Sauer has performed with the Brentano String Quartet and members of the Juilliard String Quartet at the Library of Congress, and has given solo performances as Carnegie Hall and St. John's College, Oxford. His brother, cellist Gregory Sauer, has performed concertos with orchestras including the Houston Symphony, the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, and the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, and is the principal cello player for the Tallahassee Symphony.
Violinist Bowlin, a Moline native, has taught at Juilliard School, the Mannes Beethoven Institute, and Oberlin Conservatory, and has received critical acclaim for his solo and chamber-music performances from the New York Times, Chicago Tribute, and Chicago Sun-Times.
Included in Bowlin's and the Sauers' Trinity Cathedral repertoire are Mendelssohn's Piano Trio No. 1, Op. 49, Lukas Foss' Capriccio for Cello & Piano, and Peter Lieberson's Elegy, for violin & piano.
