· For 20 years, Boston held the record for the best-selling debut album of all time, and it's hard to flip through anyone's uncle's record collection and not find a copy of the self-titled monster from 1976. Even though Boston has had just three releases since then, the group is back this Tuesday with Corporate America, featuring guitarist and electronics superstar Tom Scholz and original vocalist Brad Delp. Now taking the indie route on the Artemis Records label, the band looks to pop up soon on the late-night talk-show circuit.

· Next week the Hep Cat Records label releases an amazing 21-track CD snapshot of modern-day rockabilly and "psychobilly" perversions, simply entitled Billy, Volume One, at a rock-bottom suggested-retail sticker of less than $5. Growing up on Gene Vincent, Johnny Cash, The Cramps, and The Blasters, these young and gristled up-snorts go for the brass bull's ring. The collection features Cave Catt Sammy, The Quakes, and the Frantic Flintstones alongside unreleased tracks from Reverend Horton Heat, Wayne Hancock, and Nekromantix. Highlights include Big Sandy & The Fly-Rite Trio's "Steady Baby" and Demented Are Go's "Rubber Rock."

· Experimental audio enthusiasts should check out Kit Clayton vs. Safety Scissors' new dip into the electronica pool of squeaks and squabble: Ping Pong, a captivating album based, well, upon an actual ping-pong match. Sampling ping-pong-ball bounces and other found organic sounds, these studio mixmasters have created a nifty journey of chirping delight. Ping Pong can be found percolating on the Carpark Records label.
