Rock Island - Christian Care is pleased to announce that it has received a $2,000 grant from the Doris & Victor Day Foundation to help support its Community Meal Site Program. Feeding the homeless is a key service that Christian Care provides to the Quad Cities community. Last year alone Christian Care served more than 60,000 meals to hungry individuals. Because of the financial support received from the Doris & Victor Day Foundation, Christian Care will be able to continue serving nourishing meals to the needy seven days a week, 365 days a year. Christian Care also provides spiritual and emotional nourishment for its many visitors, as well as for the 250 individuals who reside at and receive services from Christian Care each year.
Christian Care is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization operating two facilities?a domestic violence shelter for abused women and children and a rescue mission for homeless men. It serves homeless individuals, victims of domestic violence, veterans, men and women coming out of prison, and those with mental illnesses.
