Day One of Bill Riley Semi-Finals 2019

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 15, 2019) — Three talented Senior division acts (ages 13-21) have advanced to the Championship round in Bill Riley's 60th annual Iowa State Fair Talent Search. Each act will perform again on Sunday, August 18. Two Sprout acts were crowned champions.

Hooked on Hooked Rugs at the State Fair

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 15, 2019) — Wanda McCay of Ames won Best of Show Honors in the Hooked Rugs division of the Fabric and Threads contest that was judged prior to the start of the 2019 Iowa State Fair.

The Sweepstakes awards went to Linda Cookman of West Des Moines.

Pat Devine of Council Bluffs Claims Sweepstakes Award for the Eleventh Year

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 14, 2019) — For the eleventh year in a row, Pat Devine of Council Bluffs secured Sweepstakes honors in the Toys and Dolls division of Fabric and Threads judged prior to the start of the 2019 Iowa State Fair. Devine also accrued the Best of Show award.

2019 Iowa State Fair People's Choice Best New Food Announced

DES MOINES, IA (08/14/2019) — Georgie's Roast with the Most Wrap, a new food from G Mig's Wrap Stand, takes top honors in the 2019 People's Choice Best New Food Contest. The Chief from The Rib Shack and Chicken Street Tacos from the Chicken City stand were also in the competition.

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 13, 2019) — Five talented Sprout division acts (ages 2-12) and six Senior division acts (ages 13-21) have advanced to the semi-final round in Bill Riley's 60th annual Iowa State Fair Talent Search. Each act will perform again on Thursday, August 15; Friday, August 16; or Saturday, August 17.
