Iowa Business Council (IBC) 's Annual Competitive Dashboard Highlights Resilient Economy and Opportunities for Growth

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 25, 2025) — The Iowa Business Council (IBC) released its annual, non-partisan review of the state’s economic competitiveness. Known as Iowa’s Competitive Dashboard, the report measures the state’s national rankings in five categories: Economic growth; workforce and education; governance; health and wellness; and state demographics. For each category, Iowa is awarded a cumulative score that determines whether it is outperforming, competitive, or underperforming.

IBC Chair and Raytheon President Phil Jasper will join IBC President Joe Murphy for an overview of the report’s findings and recommendations during the unveiling.

Iowa Business Council (IBC) Projects Positive Six-Month Economic Outlook

DES MOINES, IOWA (October 3, 2023) — The Iowa Business Council (IBC) has released its third-quarter Economic Outlook Survey (EOS) for 2023. The report measures member expectations for sales, capital spending, and employment for the next six months. If the index measures above fifty, sentiment is positive. The third-quarter survey's overall economic outlook index is 59.92, a decrease of 4.25 index points from the 2023 second-quarter report.
