PELLA, IOWA (January 30, 2023) — Central College recognized 432 students named to the Fall 2022 Dean's List.

The honor is awarded to full-time students who achieve a 3.5 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale while taking twelve or more graded credit hours for the semester.

PELLA, IOWA (January 30, 2023) — Nikolas Zarlatanes, a Strength and Condition major in the Class of 2024 from Taylor Ridge, Illinois, presented a research project at the Midwest Sports Analytics Meeting in November. Zarlatanes collected research information as a Dean's Scholars on key performance indicators throughout summer conditioning in Division III football athletes. The data was collected through the use of Catapult GPS/accelerometers.

PELLA, IOWA (October 14, 2022) — Hailey Glover of Eldridge, Iowa, is one of 36 students in the Symphonic Wind Ensemble at Central College for the 2022-23 academic year. Glover plays the Euphonium. The Symphonic Wind Ensemble is an auditioned instrumental group and one of the premier ensembles on campus. Brad Kampe, lecturer of music, is the new band director.

PELLA, IOWA (October 14, 2022) — Under the direction of Mark Babcock ('91), 74 students are members of the A CapPELLA Choir at Central College for the 2022-23 academic year.

The A CapPELLA Choir started at Central in 1932 and is the oldest continuing music ensemble on campus.

PELLA, IOWA (October 10, 2022) — Central College hosted a research poster session for seventeen students who completed summer research.

Layken Bytnar of Bettendorf (52722) is a biology major in the class of 2024.

PELLA, IOWA (September 21, 2022) — Central College has added a new academic degree to the chemistry program beginning the Fall 2022 semester: a Bachelor of Science degree.

PELLA, IOWA (September 19, 2022) — Liz Hurlbut of Muscatine, Iowa, Central kinesiology major and Class of 2023, completed an athletic training internship with the Quad City Steamwheelers during the spring and summer semesters. She is working toward a pre-athletic training graduate program. John Roslien, associate professor of kinesiology, attended a game to watch her in action prepping players during the pregame.

PELLA, IOWA (September 15, 2022) — Raja Chari, a National Aeronautics and Space Administration astronaut and commander of the NASA SpaceX Crew-3 mission, will present at 7PM, Thursday, September 22, Douwstra Auditorium, on Central College's campus.

PELLA, IOWA (September 12, 2022) — Central College's business-management program will expand its offerings to include business-analytics and teacher-education options as it prepares students for high-demand jobs of the future.

PELLA, IOWA (September 8, 2022) Central College's engineering program has received accreditation by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.

"Achieving ABET accreditation of our engineering program is a historic milestone for Central," says Mary E.M. Strey, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty.
