ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (June 17, 2021) — In its 162 years, Augustana has faced tough times, but the college recognizes that 17-year-olds looking at colleges have never lived through an experience like the pandemic. This year, college leaders will open the application process on July 1. 

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (June 11, 2021) — Augustana College has joined more than 340 colleges and universities in the COVID-19 College Challenge, a White House initiative to get 70% of the adult population vaccinated by July 4.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 20, 2021) — Augustana’s enrolling class of 2025 — a class that applied to college during an unprecedented year interrupted by pandemic-related closures and quarantines — is an impressive one and its composition has set new levels of diversity for the college.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 6, 2021) — Augustana reignites the annual Summer Academy program geared towards introducing high-school students to college- level courses.

Augustana's Summer Academy will run from July 12-August 13, 2021, for rising high school juniors and seniors. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive one college credit.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (April 27, 2021) — Augustana College has been awarded $34,966 to plan a new minor in integrative medicine and the humanities, as well as a new internship program with UnityPoint Health.

The one-year planning grant comes from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (April 21, 2021) — Augustana College will hold three separate graduation ceremonies — one for the class of 2020 and two for the class of 2021 — on Sunday, May 23, in order to allow social distancing of students and families.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (April 6, 2021) — Augustana Next is the name of a new partnership between two Quad-Cities institutions: Augustana College and Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC).

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 18, 2021) Augustana College announced more than 1,100 students were named to the Dean's List for the 2020-21 fall semester. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a four-point scale for courses taken during the term. The following local students have been named to the dean's list.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (January 11, 2021) — President of the College Steven Bahls will teach one of 130 courses offered during Augustana’s January Term starting this week. He and Nancy Johnson, a senior advancement-consultant for the college, will teach the Art of Fundraising to 20 Augie undergrads.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (January 1, 2021) — Augustana College announced a successful fundraising campaign and celebrated by lighting up the Quad Cities sky. The blue lights on the dome of Old Main, located on 7th Avenue in Rock Island, will shine gold soon and throughout 2021. The change comes after an announcement that the college has surpassed its $125-million dollar goal for its AUGUSTANA NOW campaign.
