Gene Odom, an American writer and former bodyguard of Ronnie VanZant of LYNYRD SKYNYRD will be in the Quad-Cities on Thursday June 16th to work with SKYNNY SKYNYRD a Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Show that will be playing at "STUGIS On The River" MISSISSIPPI RIVER MOTOR CYCLE RALLY at the Mississippi Valley Fair Grounds on Thursday night at 8:45PM.
GENE ODOM was (Skynyrd Founder & Lead Singer) Ronnie Van Zant's personal bodyguard and security manager for the Lynyrd Skynyrd band pre 1977, and has written three books about the band: Lynyrd Skynyrd: I'll Never Forget You[1] and Lynyrd Skynyrd: Remembering the Free Birds of Southern Rock.[2   and
and his new book RONNIE & ME.
Odom survived the plane crash that killed Ronnie Van Zant and othe members of Lynyrd Skynyrd, but is now disabled as a result of the plane crash.   Gene has written a third book and will have several Q & As about the original Lynyrd Skynyrd Band, the plane crash & introduce Skynny Skynyrd at Thursdays Skynyrd Tribute Show!.

SKYNNY SKYNYRD   The Ultimate Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Show

Nova Singers will kick off their 26th Season with their second "Out of the Ordinary Concert: Nova Singers and Friends," on Sunday, June 12 at 6:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 1600-20th Street, Rock Island, Illinois. Current members and alumni of Nova Singers will perform everything from classical to blues, from sacred songs to Broadway hits.

Audience members will enjoy hearing jazz tunes such as "When October Goes" and "How About You?".  Many of the Nova Singers are church musicians and will offer handbell solos such as "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty", an organ solo, "Rondo", by Bull, and a vocal duet, "Be Still My Soul/ What a Friend We Have in Jesus." A Nova family will present Broadway tunes such as "Anything You Can Do" and "Dites Moi".  For the Gilbert and Sullivan fans, you'll hear "Love, Unrequited, Robs Me of My Rest". A string quartet will play a variety of pieces throughout the concert. All together, the Nova Singers, led by artistic director Laura Lane, will be performing some music from their recently recorded Christmas CD. And, for all the WVIK enthusiasts, there will be stories from Car Talk and Rock Island Lines.

This special event is a fund-raiser that will support the Nova Singers' 26th Season. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, and students are free. Tickets will be available at the door. Amana - The Duttons, international touring and recording artists direct from Branson, Mo, will perform at The Old Creamery Theatre in Amana for two performances only on Friday July 15 at 3 and 7:30 p.m.

The Duttons play everything from bluegrass to classical in their shows, featuring a variety of instruments: violin, guitar, bass, viola, banjo, mandolin, keyboard, harmonica and drums among others. They have not only won recognition in national fiddling contestsand as studio musicians, but have also garnered praise and awards in classical violin competitions.

In addition to their instrumental virtuosity, The Duttons are accomplished singers and dancers and have been recognized as superb vocal talents. Behind the scenes, they have collaborated to create unique production ideas for their shows, which delight audiences.

From rock legends to promising up-and-comers, "Nothing Compares" to the star-studded line-up, all free with gate admission. The Iowa State Fair runs August 11-21.

Winner of the 2010 American Country Music Award for Top Vocal Group, The Band Perry has garnered multiple other honors including a nomination from CMT for their 2011 Music Video of the Year featuring the platinum, number-one hit single "If I Die Young."
