PEORIA, Ill. -- SMG managed Peoria Civic Center and 95.5 WGLO are excited to announce Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators will be coming to the Peoria Civic Center Theater on Saturday, July 6th at 8 PM. Tickets are $57, $47, and $37 and go on sale Friday April 26th at 10 AM. Tickets can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations, Ticketmaster online and at the Peoria Civic Center Box Office.

As a musician, artist, philanthropist, and iconic rock figure, SLASH has amassed album sales nearing an astounding 100 million copies along with a Grammy Award and seven Grammy nominations, plus countless other accolades, accomplishments and acknowledgements, Time magazine named Slash #2, behind Jimi Hendrix, on its "The Ten Best Electric Guitar Players of All-Time." The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee marked another career milestone this July when he was honored with his own Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. SLASH's star is located directly in front of the Hard Rock Café on Hollywood Blvd.  An original member of iconic rock band Guns N' Roses, SLASH helped the band create signature sounds like the guitar riff of #1 hit "Sweet Child o' Mine" and "Welcome To The Jungle." After leaving the band, SLASH went on to critical acclaim in his personal project Slash's Snakepit, and global success with the supergroup Velvet Revolver.  SLASH and his bandmates Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators--Myles Kennedy (vocals), Brent Fitz (drums), Todd Kerns (bass) and Frank Sidoris (guitar)--are in the midst of a world tour for their critically acclaimed album APOCALYPTIC LOVE which earned  SLASH his two first-ever #1 rock radio hits: "You're A Lie" and "Standing In The Sun." The album's third single "Anastasia" has now cracked the Top 20 at Active Rock, landing at #19 this week. The album was produced by Eric Valentine, who did the same honors for his first solo disc SLASH, and all the songs on APOCALYPTIC LOVE were written together by Slash and Myles Kennedy.

At 6 feet and 5 inches tall, Shawn Thomas stands out in virtually any crowd, but there are several things that
make him unique among Christian recording artists. He writes and records his own songs, he tours at no cost, and his ministry includes an outreach to the GLBT community.

Thomas, a Florida-based singer-songwriter with ten solo CDs to his credit, will visit MCC of the Quad Cities in
Rock Island to deliver his message of inclusion at 11am on Sunday, May 5th as part of morning worship, and
again that evening with a full concert benefitting the church at Fargo Lounge in Moline at 5pm.

A four-time Pride in the Arts Awards recipient from The Stonewall Society and fourteen-time nominee, Shawn
Thomas' newest musical effort is a praise and worship collection of original songs called, "Voice of Worship."
The lyrics for each song on the project are based on one or more texts from Old and New Testament scripture.
He explains, "In the past few years there've been a few choices I've made in expressing myself a little more
openly that have brought on a bit of (for lack of a better word) 'controversy' to what I was doing - whether it
be from the Christian community or the GLBT community. I realized as a result, focus was being taken away
from the grace message that is what I truly hope to be able share; So, I thought for this project, why not go
directly to scripture and let that be the lyric and completely take my 'voice' out of it."

On December 19, 2012, Shawn Thomas was officially inducted in to the GLBT Hall of Fame. According to the
press release posted on the Hall of Fame website, he was approved for membership based on: "...the work
Shawn Thomas has done to provide a positive and healing atmosphere for today's GLBT Christian... [including building] bridges of understanding and acceptance for the GLBT community within the non-GLBT Christian community... [and highlighting] the negatives thrust onto out GLBT Christians by the GLBT community."

With a minister as a father and a talented musician as his mother, Shawn's ministry is the natural combination
of his musical and spiritual influences. A member of the Grammy Recording Academy, Shawn Thomas emerges not only as an outstanding performer and singer, but as a dynamic and versatile worship leader and presenter His intention is to share the message of God's of love and grace through music in order to build unity, understanding, and acceptance while still encouraging personal responsibility, self-reliance, and the
development of conviction and values.

"Voice of Worship" and other CD releases are available for sale on popular internet sites including iTunes.com
and Amazon.com, and is distributed by Aaron's Rainbow Project and Shawn Thomas Studios, West Palm Beach, FL. For more information about Shawn Thomas and his ministry, visit www.shawnthomasonline.com and www.aaronsrainbowproject.com.

MCC of the Quad Cities is currently worshipping at the TriCity Jewish Center, 2715 30th St., Rock Island, and
the Fargo Lounge is located at 4204 Ave. of the Cities in Moline. The Benefit Concert is part of a chili cook-off
beginning at 4:30pm. For more information, contact the church at 563-324-8281.

SpectiCast and Eagle Rock Entertainment partner to bring this digitally remastered classic concert film, ROCKSHOW, back to the big screen in over 750 cities worldwide for the first time in over 20 years.

Philadelphia, PA - SpectiCast, in association with Eagle Rock Entertainment, is pleased to announce ROCKSHOW, a film depicting the legendary Paul McCartney and Wings on their epic 1975-1976 Wings Over The World tour. This galvanizing performance will premiere on the big screen in theaters in the UK on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 and worldwide beginning on Thursday, May 16, 2013. Although filmed on this tour at the enormous Kingdome in Seattle, ROCKSHOW, originally a cut down version of the concert, was not premiered until November 1980 in New York and April 1981 in London.
The film will premiere in the UK on Wednesday May 15 and at BAFTA in London on the same day.  Paul McCartney will be in attendance at the red carpet event. For the rest of the world, fans will have a unique opportunity to see the film beginning the very next day, Thursday, May 16.  The film will be shown at nearly one thousand playdates at theaters in over 700 cities worldwide, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Cape TownSydneyRomeWarsawBucharestPrague, HamburgSan Paolo, Rio DeJaneiro, Buenos Aires, and many other cities across the U.S, Mexico, Asia, Europe, and South America.  These special theatrical presentations will include a bonus 12-minute interview with McCartney.
For Wings Across America, Paul brought with him one the most sophisticated and dazzling rock shows of the mid-Seventies (it was a time when nobody worried about extravagance or expense) and the band would eventually perform to more than 600,000 people at 31 shows in the US and Canada, ending with three mind-bending nights at The Forum in Los Angeles. It's no exaggeration to say that the demand that greeted Paul McCartney & Wings (Linda McCartney, Joe English, Denny Laine and Jimmy McCulloch) in the spring of 1976 as they embarked on what would become their one and only North American tour was overwhelming.  Having released four consecutive chart busting albums including Red Rose Speedway, Band on the Run, Venus and Mars and Wings at the Speed of Sound - not to mention 1973's Academy Award-winning James Bond theme "Live and Let Die" - Paul's solo career was in full flight... and having not performed in the States for 10 years, either solo or with The Beatles, excitement had reached fever pitch.
Now Paul gives fans the chance to be able to immerse themselves in a concert that is destined to live forever.
@PaulMcCartney
Tickets for ROCKSHOW are available at participating theater box offices and online at http://www.rockshowonscreen.com. This digitally enhanced film event will be screened in over 750 select theatres across the world.

With one last wintry blast taking hold of much of the US, it seemed like an appropirate time for Thunder Power to release their new video for their track "Winter Lingering." It's the Omaha-based group's second official video for a song off of their recent album "Volumes," which was released in December 2012 via Slumber Party Records. The video is based around the amazing world of comic artist Chris Ware (author of "Jimmy Corrigan," "Rusty Brown," "Building Stories," et al).
Here's a link to the video (feel free to share!): http://youtu.be/gqjG3X9ESdI
ABOUT THE VIDEO
The video for "Winter Lingering" is set in an Omaha inhabited by the likes of Rusty Brown, Chalky White and Jason Lint -- characters from comic artist Chris Ware's ongoing graphic novel "Rusty Brown."
ABOUT "VOLUMES"
After six years of what seems to be an ever-revolving cast, Thunder Power remains the collective musical outlet of a group of friends residing in Omaha, anchored by constant members Alex Boardman, Will Silvey Simons and Ian Simons.
After putting out four EPs (two solo, two split), they finally released their debut LP "Volumes" this past December on Slumber Party Records. "Volumes," recorded at ARC Studios in Omaha, features 11 tracks that capture the band's musical approach of attempting to reach peak instrumental lushness, all balanced by the off-putting beauty (and sometimes frailness) of introverted songwriting.
Thunder Power's next show is May 31st at Slowdown in Omaha where the vinyl ediion of "Volumes" will be availble for purchase for the first time.
