CHICAGO (Dec. 13, 2017) — Gov. Bruce Rauner’s Health Care Fraud Elimination Task Force reported that the State has saved, prevented or recovered approximately $450 million in fraudulent or wasteful Medicaid spending in fiscal years 2016 and 2017. 

SB 772 will decrease prevalence of “doctor-shopping”

Bruce Rauner today signed into law SB 772, legislation that will require prescribers with an Illinois Controlled Substance License to register with and use the Illinois Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP), a database that records patient prescription history.

Governor’s opioid task force delivers programs to attack overdose surge

 

CHICAGO (Dec. 5, 2017) — Gov. Bruce Rauner today announced the launch of a statewide helpline to provide immediate assistance for those impacted by addiction to opioids and other substances. 

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Dave Loebsack today introduced legislation to secure resources to directly combat the devastating opioid epidemic that has swept the nation. The Combating the Opioid Epidemic Act invests $45 billion into the prevention, detection, surveillance and treatment of opioid abuse. This legislation builds on the bipartisan efforts that were included in the 21st Century Cures Act to provide states with additional resources and a long-term investment in this fight.
