BETTENDORF, IOWA (April 2, 2025) — April marks School Library Month, and Bettendorf Community School District is proud to honor the vital role school libraries and librarians play in shaping curious minds, fostering a love of reading, and empowering student learning. As part of this celebration, School Librarian Day on April 4 shines a special spotlight on the dedicated professionals who bring school libraries to life.

“Our librarians are more than keepers of books — they are literacy leaders, research guides, and champions of every student’s right to learn and explore,” said Dr Michelle Morse, Bettendorf Community School District Superintendent.

“School Library Month is a time to celebrate their impact on academic achievement and lifelong learning.”

School librarians help students develop information literacy skills, navigate digital resources, discover great literature, and become confident, independent learners. They also collaborate with teachers to support curriculum goals, promote critical thinking, and create welcoming environments where all students can thrive.

As we celebrate School Library Month and School Librarian Day, Bettendorf Community School District thanks our librarians for the incredible work they do every day to open doors, spark imagination, and support student success.
