DES MOINES, IOWA (February 25, 2025) — Governor Kim Reynolds has released the following statement in response to the Iowa House Health and Human Services Committee passing HSB 145 and the Iowa Senate Education Committee passing SSB 1135 to create a continuum of care for Iowa preschool students:

“Iowa parents have more preschool options than ever before, but for many, availability is not the issue,” Gov Reynolds said. “Working parents need a solution that meets the demands of their busy lives — one that allows their children to benefit from our successful preschool programs and have access to child-care. Incentivizing successful partnerships between preschools and child-care providers is the best way to ensure children are receiving a full day of high-quality care.”
