Musical Tour w/ Wolfskill & the Wild at the Figge Art Museum -- October 24.

Thursday, October 24, 6:30 p.m.

Figge Art Museum, 225 West Second Street, Davenport IA

On October 24, Figge Art Museum patrons are invited on a journey through the Davenport venue's Lewis Collection in a guided Musical Tour with Wolfskin & The Wild, an evening with the renowned folk duo designed to bring art to life through the power of music.

Figge guests have the opportunity to experience a live, dynamic instrumental performance by the indie-folk artists as they craft a unique, improvisational set inspired by the stunning artwork on display. This multisensory experience will offer attendees a fresh perspective on art, blending sight and sound in a way that’s truly unforgettable.

As stated at the duo's Web site, "Blending classical elegance with folk authenticity and experimental ambience is what crafts the unique sound of Wolfskill & The Wild. Matched with the authentic fusion of a daring folk singer/songwriter and an unbound classical virtuoso, Midwestern grown, Iowa-native folk-duo Wolfskill & Wild paint a moving soundscape over their Driftless Area roots. Pulling inspiration from everything between prairies & pines, to across the world, and even timelines ... their sound is shrouded in song and story of the human experience and the emotions that rest inside all of us. [Their] debut album Feral Heart is a mesmerizing journey through the wilderness of human emotions. Drawing inspiration from the rugged beauty of our Midwestern roots and the heart, each track explores a dimension of love, inviting listeners to embark on a soul-stirring adventure, where vulnerability is celebrated and passion runs free."

The Figge Art Museum's Lewis Collection is a remarkable gift of 44 works of modern and contemporary American art valued at $14 million. This extraordinary collection includes masterpieces by influential artists such as Romare Bearden, Milton Avery, Marsden Hartley, Helen Frankenthaler, and Alice Neel. This is a rare opportunity to see these pivotal works in person and understand their impact on American art over the last century.

The Musical Tour w/ Wolfskill & the Wild takes place in Davenport on October 24, with the Figge bar open at 5 p.m. and the tour commencing at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free, and more information is available by calling (563)326-7804 and visiting FiggeArtMuseum.org.
