DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 20, 2024) — The Vera French Foundation will host a groundbreaking at The Vera French Carol Center to celebrate Carol’s Village Gardens (CVG) on Thursday, September 12, 10AM. This is located at 808 N. Harrison Street in Davenport, Iowa.
Vera French continues to develop, construct, own, and lease supportive and affordable housing in our community. The newest development is a groundbreaking for Carol’s Village Gardens (CVG) located at 820 Harrison Street in Davenport, Iowa. Located adjacent to the supportive and life-saving mental-health outreach services of Vera French’s Carol Center, CVG is set to open in Summer/Fall 2025 as a brand-new development offering thirty units in total, featuring a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments.
Carol’s Village Gardens was conceived in Summer 2019 and would not be possible without the visionary funding and support from local and state funding partners, including an economic impact report prepared on our behalf by the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce. We are thrilled to witness the transition of this project from concept to reality, contributing much needed housing to our community.
