WASHINGTON DC (March 10, 2020) — Prepared floor remarks by Senator Charles "Chuck" Grassley:

***

As many Iowans know, I have always loved history.

That’s why I am glad to recognize March as Iowa History Month.

Since becoming a state in 1846, Iowa has raised one president and four Nobel laureates and is home to over 2,000 locations on the National Register of Historic Places.

Our heritage is preserved through the great work done by Iowans who maintain Iowa’s museums and historic sites.

I encourage all Iowans to help pass on our history by taking advantage of the many programs hosted this month by visiting iowaculture.gov.
