INDIANOLA, IOWA (December 17, 2019) — Simpson College celebrated the accomplishments of 90 students who completed their degree requirements at the conclusion of the fall 2019 semester on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Janey Botkins of Walcott graduated with a degree in Exercise Science.

Camille Schmalz of Muscatine graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Psychology.

This year marked the 11th time Simpson has celebrated commencement in December. The ceremony took place in historic Smith Chapel, which proudly displayed its holiday decorations.

This year's graduates join a worldwide network of more than 22,000 living alumni.

Simpson College is located in Indianola, Iowa, a short drive from Iowa's capital city of Des Moines. Founded in 1860, Simpson College has approximately 1,300 full-time undergraduate students. and approximately 400 part-time students. Simpson also has a campus in West Des Moines serving primarily adult learners. Simpson offers 80 majors and minors, is a member of the NCAA Division III American Rivers Conference, hosts eight Greek houses on campus, and sponsors many extracurricular options for student involvement.
