WOW Wednesday
Wednesday, February 6, 2-5PM, is a WOW Wednesday at the Discovery Center, sponsored by US Bank Foundation. Discover the art of cookie decorating by making presidents out of cookies. WOW Wednesday is geared for school-aged kids and their families and is a perfect activity for a winter day with school early out. WOW Wednesday is drop in with no pre-registration required.

Every WOW Wednesday also brings Miss Jean, a retired teacher who shares chess, juggling and logic puzzles at the Discovery Center. She teaches beginning chess to all, from preschoolers through adult or she will play a strategic game with an opponent to match their skill level. Additionally, she loves to juggle and can teach anyone of any age to become a successful juggler. Also, Sweeney has on hand three large cases of logic puzzles, construction materials, and hands on brain teasers to fascinate any age. Her new construction set is Joinks, so come check it out.
Funtime Friday
Friday, February 8, at 10AM, is Funtime Friday, sponsored by Clinton Kiwanis Club and Alliant Energy Foundation. Join Miss Cindy of River Cities Tennis and Pickleball Complex as she helps you get active with pickleball and tennis. This popular program is designed for preschoolers and their grown-ups, although all age children are welcome anytime.

Try your hand at cookie decorating — and eating — with yummy homemade cookies. Play valentine games and get your face painted. There will also be a cool Valentine card creation station to make a special message for someone you love. This special event is free with regular museum admission or membership.
Sundays with Miss Jean
Every second and fourth Sunday of the month is Sundays with Miss Jean, and that means she will be here this Sunday, February 10, 2-5PM. And you know what Miss Jean does; she brings chess, juggling, and logic puzzles for families to enjoy. It’s just like WOW Wednesday, only you get to see her another day.
Family Chinese New Year Celebration
On Saturday, February 16, 11AM-1PM, celebrate a traditional Chinese New Year at the Discovery Center. This new, great event is perfect for children and families. The Discovery Center is teaming up with friends from The Pangea International Academy to bring you an insightful and culture-rich experience. You’ll meet students from China who are attending Clinton High School as they share with us the customs and traditions of Chinese children and their families. This celebration will start off with a roaring traditional dragon dance with a giant dragon puppet operated by eight dancers, accompanied by two drummers. This will lead into demonstrations of a Chinese tea ceremony, a traditional Chinese dance, and Tai Chi. Following the stage exhibitions, families will be invited to explore activity stations, including: making a Chinese lantern, making a Fú good fortune plaque, sampling tea and a Chinese treat, photo opportunities with the giant dragon puppet, and adults can inscribe special messages on red packets for their children.
The Discovery Center is located at 332 8th Avenue South in downtown Clinton, Iowa, at the foot of the US 30 Bridge over the mighty Mississippi. They are open Wednesdays through Saturdays, 9:30AM-5PM, and Sundays, 12:30-5PM. Admission is $4 per person, ages two to 64; $3 per person, ages 65 and older; free for children one and younger; and free for members of the children's museum.
The Felix Adler Children's Discovery Center is a non-profit children's museum whose mission is to provide a safe and positive environment for families to discover the world by exploring arts, culture, literacy, and science through educational programs and interactive exhibits.
