The Scott Community College Foundation (SCCF) is pleased to share that they recently added three new Board of Directors to the Foundation.
Josselyn Smith
Josselyn is an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant at Le Claire Family Dentistry and she also works as an independent contractor doing corporate training. She has taught management and leadership skills for 17 years in addition to curriculum development for adult learners. She is a graduate of American Military University, finishing her degree while living overseas. As an advocate for volunteerism, she and her family dedicate time to various charitable organizations. She is excited about the opportunity to serve on the SCCF Board to promote learning pathway options for individuals not wanting, or unable, to pursue a university track.
Mark Snyder As a Project Manager with over 12 years of construction experience, Mark is currently employed by Russell where he primarily focuses on projects valued at under $1 MM. Prior to joining the Russell team, Mark owned a commercial construction company specializing in tenant improvement, hospitality, retail, office renovations and multi-family development projects. As a Quad Cities native, Mark graduated from Assumption High School in (Year) and Iowa State University in (Year), with a degree in Construction Engineering. Mark is looking forward to growing the number of scholarships sponsored by local businesses, which will provide opportunities that might otherwise not exist.
Seth Porter Seth owns Porter Insurance, an independent insurance agency serving the Quad Cities since 1952. He is a 2004 graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire where his education focused on marketing and sales. Following college, Seth moved to Minneapolis and enjoyed a business to business sales role for RR Donnelley and Sons. In 2008 Seth returned to the Quad City area and joined the insurance agency. Seth currently serves the community through the North Scott Rotary and is a past president of the North Scott Chamber of Commerce. Seth is eager to support SCCF and further its mission of providing student scholarships and financial resources to the college community.
The Scott Community College Foundation Board is a volunteer board, of up to 25 members, charged with the mission, “to provide financial resources that support student scholarships and our college community.” The board is made up of dedicated directors who give freely of their time and expertise. The directors take great pride in celebrating the successes of Scott Community College students, faculty and staff.
