Hubbell, Democratic candidate for Governor of Iowa, vows to reverse Medicaid privatization

DES MOINES, IA – In the wake of troubling reports of reductions in healthcare services - and even death - related to Iowa's privatization of Medicaid, Fred Hubbell called upon Governor Kim Reynolds to reverse the decision to turn Medicaid over to for-profit companies, and work to ensure that every Iowan has access to quality, affordable healthcare.

Fred Hubbell provided the following statement:

“The decision to privatize Medicaid in Iowa was reckless and irresponsible. Now, as Iowans suffer due to Medicaid privatization, Kim Reynolds is refusing to reverse this destructive decision. The Governor of Iowa should be doing everything possible to ensure that every Iowan has access to quality, affordable healthcare. If elected, I will do just that - starting by reversing the privatization of Medicaid.”
