Pederson, who served alongside Governor Tom Vilsack, will serve as Chair of Hubbell for Governor
DES MOINES, IA – After meeting with educators and activists across the state on a “Get Iowa Growing: Education Workshop Tour,” and raising a record-breaking $1 million exclusively from individual Iowans, Fred Hubbell - community leader, job creator, and lifelong Democrat - today announced that Sally Pederson, former Lieutenant Governor of Iowa, has officially endorsed his campaign. Hubbell also announced that Pederson will serve as Chair of Hubbell for Governor.
Former Lieutenant Governor Sally Pederson provided the following statement:
“In the time since I served with Governor Tom Vilsack, Iowa Republicans have underfunded education, mismanaged the state budget, and de-funded essential health care services. In that same time, Fred Hubbell created good-paying jobs in Iowa, expanded access to healthcare, and helped to turn around a troubled state agency. I have known Fred for 35 years, and there is no one I trust more to turn this state around and do good work for all Iowans.”
Fred Hubbell provided the following statement:
“I am truly honored to have Sally’s support. She is a dedicated public servant, having served as Lieutenant Governor of Iowa with Governor Tom Vilsack, and I am thrilled to have her on the team.”
