World AIDS Day 2016 is an opportunity to reduce new HIV infections, reduce AIDS related deaths and eliminate HIV stigma by raising awareness for the prevention, treatment, care and support services for those at risk of contracting or living with HIV/AIDS.
On Thursday, December 1st, 2016, The Project of the Quad Cities along with St. Ambrose University and Scott County Health Department will be by hosting a mini-health fair at St. Ambrose University in the Rogalski Center from 10AM to 2PM. There will be food, free HIV testing, information on PrEP, a daily pill regimen that can help people remain HIV-negative, and information about the services provided by The Project of the Quad Cities and other area organizations.
Other organizations in attendance will be: St. Ambrose University’s P.R.I.S.M., Scott County Health Department, Scott County Tobacco Cessation, Planned Parenthood, Quad Cities Sexual Health Coalition, Rosecrance, Center for Alcohol and Drug Services Inc. (CADS), CSL Plasma, Family Resources, DeLaCerda House, Place 2B, Illinois-Iowa Center for Independent Living and CASI.
