The Quad City Wind Ensemble (QCWE) is pleased to announce results of the 2016 Charles B. DCamp Young Performer’s Competition, sponsored in part by BankORION. Auditions took place on Sunday, March 13th, at the Galvin Fine Arts Center on the St. Ambrose University campus.
The 2016 first place winner is Jacy Betzel, trumpet, from United Township High School in East Moline, IL. She will be performing Carnival of Venice with the QCWE on Sunday, May 1st. In addition to the solo performance appearance, Betzel receives a $250 scholarship for private study. Second place winner Karlaina Bunn, alto saxophone from North Scott High School, Eldridge, IA, receives a $150 scholarship. Third place and a $100 scholarship went to trumpeter Zoe Replinger from Rock Island High School, Rock Island, IL.
