· More DVD treats are included in the box set of George Harrison re-issues due this coming Tuesday. Capitol Records has digitally re-mastered six of his solo albums - Thirty-Three & 1/3, Somewhere in England, Gone Troppo, Cloud Nine, George Harrison, and Live in Japan - many out-of-print for years, and has expanded each with bonus tracks and new liner notes. While each album is available separately, the 75-minute DVD will only be available in the collected box set.
· Guest stars are packed in tight on two upcoming albums. Reggae legends Toots & The Maytals have announced the release of True Love in April on the V2 imprint, featuring Keith Richards, Jeff Beck, Trey Anastasio, Ben Harper, Bonnie Raitt, Ryan Adams, Willie Nelson, Bootsy Collins, the Roots' human beat-box Rahzel, and Terry Hall of the Specials. One track features Eric Clapton: a new version Toots' own "Pressure Drop," made popular by The Clash in 1980. Also heavy with guests is The Attraction to All Things Uncertain, the upcoming album from Chris Vrenna under his Tweaker moniker. Helping out is an interesting mix: Robert Smith of The Cure, David Sylvain of Japan, Will Oldham of Bonnie Prince Billy and Palace Brothers fame, Jennifer Charles of Elysian Fields, Johnny Marr of The Smiths, Mellowdrone, and The Walkmen.
