RIBCO is set to host a special Wednesday-night concert with one of the country's most lauded and prolific metal bands, as the musicians of Thou have, over the past 10 years, released 10 EPs, four compilation albums, and five studio albums, with Pitchfork magazine naming 2014's Heathen “Best Metal Album of the Year.”

A masquerade-themed fundraiser for the Vera French Foundation, the Unmasking Mental Health Gala will raise money and awareness at the Quad-Cities Waterfront Convention Center in an event boasting cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, dinner, live and silent auctions, and a presentation by guest speaker and acclaimed author Joan Becker.

For its final exhibition in the 2017 Arts @ the Airport gallery series, Quad City Arts presents works by a trio of Midwestern artists: landscape paintings by Annawan's Broadbent and Rockford's Gates, and ceramic sculpture by West Des Moines' Lewis.

Arriving just in time for Halloween, the professional dancers of Ballet Quad Cities will stage choreographer Deanna Carter's adaptation of Bram Stoker's classic horror novel, with the notorious count portrayed by international dance star Domingo Rubio 10 years after he first danced Dracula for the Rock Island-based company.

Artworks by a pair of Iowans will soon be on display in Illinois, as Rock Island's Quad City Arts Center hosts exhibitions of photography by Bettendorf native Mike Leinhauser and mixed-media collages by Kathy Svec of Ames.
