World Migratory Bird Day, 2nd Annual Event

Protect Birds: Be the Solution to Plastic Pollution is the 2019 theme for this day dedicated to bird longevity.

​Vendors will gather to discuss when and where these creatures travel and settle.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (July 11, 2019) — The popular art and music event is back for its third year in the gardens and more family activities have been added for 2019.

Local and regional artists including jewelers, photographers, painters, woodworkers, fabric artists, and others who are inspired by nature to create will exhibit and sell their art pieces at this outdoor show. Many price points are offered for original works for art for the home and garden.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (June 20, 2019) — 

Kids ages 5-12 are invited to a weeklong morning camp from 9AM to noon that's filled with nature-based learning activities.

Cost is $70 per child for Botanical Center members and $80 for non-members. A few spots are still available for next week.

 

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 29, 2019) — Join the Quad City Botanical Center (QCBC) and Rock Island Parks and Recreation as we journey to Hazelton, Iowa, home to one of Iowa’s largest Amish communities.

Experience this unique culture with the help of a step-on guide. With horse and buggies passing by, we will visit several Amish country stores, tour an Amish farm and home, and savor all the flavors of a home-cooked Amish meal.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (April 16, 2019) — Members of the Quad City Botanical Center are invited to our annual Egg Hunt this Saturday, April 20, 8-10 AM. Bring your basket to fill with goodies and enjoy the outdoor hunt.

Four groups will gather for the 9AM hunt sorted by age: 0-2, 3-4, 5-7 and 8-12.

Crafts and games are included as our way of saying thank you for being a member of the Botanical Center.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (March 1, 2019) — We're celebrating orchids in March and you're invited to join us for painting, crafts and activities during Sunday Funday. The fun is for all ages.

Program is included with general admission and is free for members. No reservation required.
