MOLINE, ILLINOIS (September 5, 2023) — The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting Quad Cities area residents to join the fight to end Alzheimer’s by participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® on Saturday, October 7, at the Vibrant Arena at the Mark in Moline.

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (August 28, 2023) — National Grief Awareness Day is August 30, a good time to discuss the ways dementia caregivers and those living with Alzheimer’s can experience this emotion.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 16, 2023) — On July 1, 2023, Tim Lane of Le Claire, Iowa, and Rhonda Halterman of Davenport, Iowa, joined the Alzheimer’s Association Iowa Chapter Board of Directors. Lane is a Financial Advisor at Edward Jones, and he has a passion to help end Alzheimer’s because he has seen the effects of the disease on clients, friends, and his mother, who passed away from the disease in 2022.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 1, 2023) — June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, and it’s a good time to honor and spread awareness for the more than 6.7 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s, including 300,000 in Iowa and Illinois. As the size of the US population age 65 and older continues to grow, so, too, will the number and proportion of Americans with Alzheimer’s or other dementias.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 15, 2023) — The Alzheimer’s Association’s annual Memories in the Making event will be held on Friday, May 19, 5:30–9PM, at the Figge Art Museum (225 W 2nd St) in Davenport. All proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association and go towards Alzheimer’s and dementia care, support, and research.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 2, 2023) — The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting Quad Cities area residents to attend their annual Memories in the Making event on Friday, May 19, 5:30–9:30PM, at the Figge Art Museum. Paintings created by locals living with Alzheimer’s or dementia in the Memories in the Making Art Therapy program will be available to bid on in a silent and live auction.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 3, 2023) — The Alzheimer’s Association will hold the first annual BrainWorks Conference in the Quad Cities at Birchwood Fields Learning Center in Davenport on April 19, 9AM-2:30PM. This year's conference is focused on providing family caregivers with information and resources to help them care for themselves and their loved one living with Alzheimer's or dementia It is free and open to the public, but registration is required because space is limited.

DES MOINES, IOWA (October 25, 2022)  Over 5,000 Iowans across the state raised money over the past ten months through bake sales, Facebook fundraisers and more for Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Together with local sponsors, walkers helped raise $1.35 million so far to help fund the care, support, and research programs of the Alzheimer’s Association.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (October 4, 2022) — The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting Quad Cities area residents to join the fight to end Alzheimer’s by participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, October 8, 9AM, at the Vibrant Arena at The Mark (formerly The TaxSlayer Center). Registration is at 8AM.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 8, 2021) — During Black History Month in February, the Alzheimer’s Association is recognizing the contributions from Black individuals making a difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. The need for strong voices and advocacy on behalf of Black communities has never been greater because African-Americans are twice as likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease as older white Americans.
