Gov Kim Reynolds Announces Appointments to Iowa’s Boards and Commissions

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 22, 2023) — Governor Kim Reynolds has announced appointments to Iowa’s boards and commissions.

The following appointments are not subject to Senate confirmation:

Iowa Council on Homelessness

Rachel Geilenfeld, Polk

Benjamin Brustkern, Black Hawk

Mary Ingham, Cerro Gordo

Ashley Schwalm, Scott

Mariliegh Fisher, Black Hawk

David Hagen, Linn

Gov Kim Reynolds Announces Leadership Change at Department of Education

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 22, 2023) — Governor Kim Reynolds has announced a change in leadership at the Department of Education, appointing McKenzie Snow, presently Deputy Secretary of Education in the Commonwealth of Virginia, to replace Chad Aldis as department director. Aldis, who was named director in March of this year, has resigned for family reasons.

Gov Kim Reynolds Leads Trade Mission to Italy, Kosovo, and Israel

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 20, 2023) — Governor Kim Reynolds will depart for a two-week long trade mission to Italy, Kosovo, and Israel aimed at expanding trade, developing business-growth opportunities, and renewing Sister State Agreements.

She will be joined by First Gentleman Kevin Reynolds, Iowa Economic Development Authority Director Debi Durham, and Iowa National Guard Adjutant General Stephen Osborn. The mission concludes on Saturday, July 1.

Gov Kim Reynolds Announces $148 Million Broadband Grant Opportunity

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 19, 2023) — Governor Kim Reynolds and the Department of Management’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) have announced a new broadband grant opportunity for internet service providers. $148,960,000 is available through Empower Rural Iowa Broadband Grant Program with funding from the Capital Projects Fund (CPF) administered by the US Department of Treasury.
