Iowa Pork Enters Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) Agreement with Iowa State football Players Myles Purchase, Tyler Moore, Tommy Hamann, and Caleb Bacon

CLIVE, IOWA (September 25, 2023) — The Iowa Pork Producers Association is partnering with four Iowa State University football players to promote the pork industry. Through an NIL (name, image, likeness) deal, Cyclones Myles Purchase, Tyler Moore, Tommy Hamann, and Caleb Bacon are leading the new “Purchase Moore Hamann Bacon” marketing campaign. The goal is obviously to push Iowans to buy pork products. More specifically, they want you to purchase more ham and bacon.

Iowa Pork Helping Special Olympians Show Pigs at State Fair

CLIVE, IOWA (August 9, 2023) — Special Olympians from across Iowa will receive a unique challenge at the Iowa State Fair. Under the tutelage of Iowa FFA and 4-H members, sixteen Special Olympians will show a pig during the Bacon Buddies® Pig Show on Saturday, August 12, in the Swine Barn.

This is the fourth year for the Bacon Buddies® event at the Iowa State Fair. It is an annual collaboration between the Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA) and Special Olympics Iowa (SOI).

BBQ and Brew at the Ballpark Raises More Than $20,000 for Iowa Food Banks and Pantries

CLIVE, IOWA (July 17, 2023) — More than $20,000 worth of ground pork will be provided to Iowa food banks and pantries because of the inaugural BBQ and Brew at the Ballpark, held last Saturday, July 15, at Principal Park in Des Moines. The Iowa Pork Producers Association partnered with the Iowa Cubs and non-profit organization Cactus Cares for the event.

BBQ and Brew at the Ballpark to Benefit Food Bank of Iowa, DMARC, Local Food Pantries

CLIVE, IOWA (July 12, 2023) — Food banks and food pantries across Iowa will benefit from the inaugural BBQ and Brew at the Ballpark event, which takes place this Saturday at Principal Park in Des Moines. The Food Bank of Iowa and the Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) will each receive at least $5,000 worth of ground pork.

The inaugural BBQ & Brew at the Ballpark — hosted by the Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA), the Iowa Cubs, and Cactus Cares — is set for 12-4PM, Saturday, July 15, at Principal Park in Des Moines. Attendees can sample delicious Iowa pork from thirty different backyard barbeque experts and fifteen craft beers from Iowa’s top breweries.

Iowa Pork Welcomes New Producer Education Director

CLIVE, IOWA (June 14, 2023) — The Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA) named Zoey Dinkla as its producer education director. Dinkla will be responsible for developing informational material for Iowa pig farmers, administering pork quality-improvement programs, and working with key stakeholder groups such as Iowa Farm Animal Care and the Iowa Pork Industry Center.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 2, 2023) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate announces the annual National Change of Address process to maintain the accuracy of Iowa’s voter-registration records is underway. Notices are being mailed to 90,948 registered voters in Iowa who have filed a change of address with the US Postal Service during the past twelve months.
