West Music Quad Cities to host Uke-A-Palooza

Moline, IL - May 10, 2014 - In partnership with the Quad Cities Ukulele Club, West Music Quad Cities is pleased to host Uke-A-Palooza, an extravaganza celebrating the ukulele. This daylong event will take place at West Music Quad Cities, 4305 44th Avenue in Moline, IL on Saturday, May 10, 2014 starting at 11:00AM. Beginning ukulele lessons are available, as well as guest speakers, special pricing on ukuleles and ukulele accessories, and guest performances throughout the event. West Music Quad Cities to Host Steinway Artist BK Davis

Davenport, Iowa - August 18 - West Music Quad Cities is proud host Davenport, Iowa native and Steinway piano artist, BK Davis, for a special performance at the Redstone Room at River Music Experience (RME) on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at 6:00PM. Come enjoy an evening full of swingin' music for a one night only event. This exciting concert will be full of jazz, gospel, pop music and more. After the performance, CDs will be available for purchase, as well as a special opportunity to meet Mr. Davis.

Tickets are $10/person and all proceeds benefit RME's fundraising campaign for a new Steinway family piano . Tickets may be purchased in advance at RME or West Music Quad Cities. Davis is currently on a nationwide tour, visiting many Steinway piano dealer locations. Born in Davenport, Iowa, home of 20th century jazz great Bix Beiderbecke, Davis was raised in a musical household. He has been composing and performing music for 40 years. Davis and his band are currently headliners at the Fox Restaurant in Tampa, FL, which is rated by Downbeat magazine as one of the 214 best jazz cafes in the U.S.

Davis' latest project is to pursue the one accolade he hasn't received: a Grammy nomination. He is in the studio composing a new album and negotiating with a major record label for representation so the new album may be eligible for honors by the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the body that bestows Grammy awards.

West Music Quad Cities to Host 9th Annual Parking Lot Jam

West Music Quad Cities is ready to rock into the summer with its 9th Annual Parking Lot Jam on Sunday, June 9 beginning at 1:00PM. Bring your lawn chairs to West Music Quad Cities for a day of cool music and hot food. This free family-friendly concert will be held rain or shine. Music lovers will be able to enjoy great live music, pose for rock star photos, and enjoy nachos, pretzels, fried pickles, and more from QC Family Entertainment Center. The Parking Lot Jam is a celebration of the musical partnerships between West Music Quad Cities studio teachers, local musicians, and West Music lesson students. The concert highlights the musical bond that spans generations as local musicians of all ages perform together. West Music Quad Cities instructors and local musicians include Ellis Kell, Dana Starkell, Tony Carducci, Andy Cowan, Rick Ely, Wes Weeber, Greg Collister, Terry Hanson, Jenni Pickering, and Nicholas Nolte.

This event is one of many hosted by West Music throughout the year for students, teachers, friends and the general public. This is a great opportunity for students to come together and perform for a live audience while showcasing their passion for music and their creativity. West Music Quad Cities to Host Education Open House

Moline, IL - May 11, 2013 - West Music Quad Cities is excited to host an education open houseon Saturday, May 11, 2013. This event is an opportunity for the public to learn about theindividual lessons, classes, and summer camps available for all ages and abilities at the WestMusic Quad Cities Conservatory. The open house will include an instrument petting zoo forschool age children, a chance to meet and consult with teachers, and a demonstration of abeginning adult keyboard class called Musical Moments.

"This is a chance for our communities to find out more about all the fun and exciting learningopportunities West Music offers. We invite everyone to meet our teachers and learn about ourlesson programs, try a new instrument, and discover the variety of classes that are available."says Debbie Yarrow, West Music Conservatory Director. West Music Quad Cities to Host Free Restring and Food Donation Event

West Music and D'Addario Strings to Host Food Drive and Guitar Restring Event to benefit the River Bend Food Bank

Moline, IL - January 30, 2013 - West Music Quad Cities in partnership with D'Addario Strings and the River Bend Food Bank will be offering a one day food drive and free restring event for acoustic and electric guitars at its Moline location on Wednesday, January 30, 2013. D'Addario will be providing strings at no charge to participants. Participants only need to bring in four canned goods or non-perishable food items, or a $5 donation. Contributions will be donated to the River Bend Food Bank in Moline.

The event will take place during store hours 10am - 8pm on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at West Music Quad Cities in Moline, IL, 4305 44th Avenue. This offer is limited to one 6-string acoustic steel-string guitar or one 6-string electric guitar per customer, while supplies last. No locking tremolo systems please. Guitars will be restrung with appropriate gauge D'Addario guitar strings; special gauges will not be available. Customers are limited to a free restring of one of these instruments. During the event, West Music will also offer a 10% discount on all in-stock Planet Waves products, made and distributed by D'Addario. Participants will also be able to register to win a free guitar set-up from West Music's extraordinary repair staff. Coralville, IA - December 2012 - West Music Company has been awarded the prestigious "Retailer of the Year" award from Music Inc. Magazine.
