WASHINGTON DC (September 5, 2019) — Senate Finance Committee Chairman Charles "Chuck" Grassley is calling on the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to explain why it hasn’t adopted recommendations to improve accountability of grants awarded through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

WASHINGTON DC (September 4, 2019) — Senator Chuck Grassley is seeking details on the role of Justice Department (DOJ) guidance in government’s efforts to dismiss claims of fraud against tax-payers. The 2018 Granston memo issued by DOJ’s Commercial Litigation Branch outlines when DOJ can seek to dismiss fraud cases brought by whistleblowers on behalf of the government. Those cases have led to the recovery of more than $59 billion in tax-payer dollars lost to fraud since 1986.
