MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (July 25, 2022) — Monmouth College student Alex Boswell ('23) of Dixon, Illinois, had his eyes opened recently by a research opportunity at the College.

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (July 25, 2022) — Sophia Swift of East Moline, a member of the Class of 2024 at Monmouth College, was one of the 10 participants in this year's Richard "Doc" Kieft Summer Research Program.

A biochemistry major, Swift presented research findings on July 15, a day devoted to a series of twenty-minute talks by the students, presented in the Pattee Auditorium of the College's Center for Science and Business.

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (July 14, 2022) — After a national search, Holly Tharp, who was previously Monmouth College controller, has been named vice president for finance and business at the College.

She replaces Melony Sacopulos, who was named associate vice chancellor for capital financial management at the University of Pittsburgh in April.

College faculty and staff created a new core curriculum that will be implemented this fall. MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (June 16, 2022) — The Drum Corps International Colts Drum and Bugle Corps from Dubuque, Iowa, will perform its 2022 competitive show "The Silk Road" at 8PM, Sunday, June 26, at Monmouth College's April Zorn Memorial Stadium.

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (June 3, 2022) — Hosting a large band at Monmouth College this summer could lead to having a large marching band on campus in the fall for years to come.

That's the thinking of first-year Director of Athletic Bands John Eckstine, whose pre-Monmouth experience includes leading marching bands in the Hollywood Christmas Parade in California, the Miracle Mile Holiday Parade in Chicago, and the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade.
