DES MOINES, IOWA (August 2, 2022) — Attorney General Tom Miller today announced that Iowa is joining a nationwide Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force of fifty attorneys-general to investigate and take legal action against the telecommunications companies responsible for bringing a majority of foreign robocalls into the United States. This bipartisan nationwide Task Force has one goal: to cut down on illegal robocalls.

DES MOINES, IOWA (July 27, 2022) — Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller has reached an agreement in principle on key financial terms with opioid maker Teva, which would provide up to $4.25 billion to participating states and local governments.

While critical details of the settlement remain the subject of ongoing negotiations, Teva disclosed the first details of the agreement ahead of its earnings announcement Wednesday.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 20, 2022) — Tobacco companies involved in the 1998 landmark settlement have transferred about $53.2 million to the state treasury for this year's payment.

In the last 24 years, Iowa has received $1.41 billion in payments under the settlement. The state will continue to receive annual Master Settlement Agreement payments in perpetuity, based on the number of cigarettes sold in the United States. The MSA is the largest settlement in US history.
