Presented in partnership with the Figge Art Museum's current exhibition French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850-1950, the Augustana College Teaching Museum of Art showcases artistic creations from the same 100-year period in Världen är Liten: The World is Small – Modern Swedish and Swedish American Works, a November 16 through February 9 exhibit highlighting works in the museum's collection made by Swedish and Swedish-American artists.

The disparate artistic mediums of painting, woodwork, and blown glass will be showcased November 1 through December 31 at the Quad City Arts International Airport Gallery, with four exhibitions blending as one via new works by Pam Ohnemus, Sri Rao, and artisans from Quad City Woodturners and the Davenport studio Hot Glass Inc.

Delivering a special presentation co-sponsored by River Action and Chris and Marty Rayburn, the widely fêted environmental artist Mary Miss serves as the special guest in an October 25 Artist Talk at Davenport's Figge Art Museum, discussing the reshaping of boundaries between sculpture, architecture, landscape design and installation art, and how artists can play a more central role in addressing the complex issues of our times.

As one of the numerous autumnal events held in conjunction with the Figge Art Museum's long-awaited exhibition French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850-1950, the Davenport venue presents a special evening with renowned historian and professor Dr. Jonathan Petropolous, who will detail connections between art and global culture in his October 21 lecture From Patronage to Nazi Plunder – French Modern Art & the Jews: A Complicated History.
