A 39-year tradition that has attracted more than 25,000 people each summer to downtown Iowa City, the Iowa Arts Festival, from August 13 to 15, will host more than 90 visual artists, include an Emerging Artist Area geared toward elevating student work, and feature a beverage garden, a variety of culinary delights, children’s activities, and thrilling live-music performances on the Main and Ped Mall Stages.

The longer summer days and the color of light in the evening has not gone unnoticed by the artists at the Beréskin Gallery & Art Academy, and through August 26, works by some of the Bettendorf venue's 45 artisans will be on display in the exhibition Golden Light: Summer of New Beginnings, personal expressions of hope and light inspired by the summer rays and the hope of better days for our community and world.

On July 21, Figge Art Museum members are invited to learn more about one of the most iconic visual artists of the 20th century in the virtual presentation Discovering Warhol: An Evening with Donald Warhola, a special event in which one of Warhol's nephews will talk about his personal connection with “Uncle Andy,” the man's artistic process and legacy, and the Warhol works currently on display in the museum's popular exhibition POP Power from Warhol to Koons.

Beautiful colors, gorgeous designs, and objects of opulence will all be explored in the latest virtual presentation hosted by Davenport's German American Heritage Center, with Ann L. Koski's July 18 program Lush Beauties: Art Nouveau Jewelry examining famed jewelers such as Lalique, Louis Comfort Tiffany, and Liberty of London, as well as the intricacies of Germany's Jugendstil Art Nouveau movement.
