Open House Scheduled for Thursday, June 29th at 3 p.m.

Davenport, IA— A ribbon cutting ceremony and open house have been scheduled at the new Vera French Pine Meadows location, 4656 W. Kimberly Rd. in Davenport, for Thursday, June 29th from 3-6 p.m. Press is invited to attend.

By completely remodeling a shuttered nursing home closed years ago, Vera French Pine Meadows provides a 15-bed residential care facility for persons experiencing persistent mental illness featuring best-practice design concepts in an individualized care setting for long-term treatment. It’s the final stage in Vera French’s three-year plans to phase out the historic Pine Knoll facility in order to comply with federal rules prohibiting institutionalization for residential services funded by Medicaid. Residents at Pine Meadows will enjoy private rooms, improved living spaces, and updated treatment facilities.

The construction and design team for Vera French Pine Meadows included Russell and the Joseph Architectural Group. For more information, please visit their websites at www.russellco.com and www.jag-architects.com.

Located on the Pine Meadows property, Vera French is proud to announce the Allies for Recovery Memorial Park and Wellness Walkway at the upcoming open house event. Richard Whitaker, CEO of Vera French, expressed his excitement about this important and historic feature of the Pine Meadows property.

“The time-honored legacy of both Pine Knoll and Vera French inspired us to dedicate a beautiful stretch of forest and meadows for this memorial park. The Allies for Recovery Memorial Park honors the compassionate individuals in our community who have cared for and loved persons experiencing mental illness and addictions. The park is also a memorial to the courageous individuals in our community who have recovered or are recovering from mental illness and addictions. The Wellness Walkway that winds through the park will feature several informational markers highlighting the history of community mental health services, Pine Knoll, and Vera French, as well as the bright future of behavioral healthcare.”

Vera French Community Mental Health Center works to enhance the mental health of all in our community by providing quality, accessible, and comprehensive care. Throughout its history, Vera French has grown in response to client needs and is the second largest mental health care provider in the state, serving over 10,000 individuals each year.
