On Friday, January 6, 2017 at 9:00, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office held a Swearing-In Ceremony at the Sheriff’s Office on second floor of the Scott County Courthouse in the Sheriff’s administration conference room. Due to a deputy sheriff vacancy, Eric George has been hired as the newest deputy sheriff of Scott County.

Eric George was born and raised in Davenport and graduated from Assumption High School and attended St. Ambrose University where Eric majored in Criminal Justice. Eric was active duty Army from 2007 to 2014 as a medic and has been an EMT since 2008. Eric was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and for the last three years Eric has been with the Army Reserves in the 339th Military Police Company as the medical supervisor. Eric was hired as a corrections officer for Scott County in January, 2015.

Eric currently resides in Davenport with his seven year old son Ryan.
