Washington, D.C. – Congressman Dave Loebsack announced today that three students in the Quad Cities area have been selected to attend Service Academies. Each year, Loebsack nominates up to ten Iowans for every opening at each Academy, with final selection for admission made by the individual Academy from that group of ten.

“Each year, I look forward to nominating outstanding future leaders to attend our nation’s service academies. Their selection is recognition of their hard work and determination,” said Loebsack. “As a military parent with children who attended a service academy, these selections mean a lot to me. Every Iowan should be proud of their future service to our nation.”

Our nation’s Service Academies offer educational opportunities for young people interested in military service. Students can specialize in a variety of fields at the Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, as well as at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis and the Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point.
