FEBRUARY 1, 2017 – Iowa City, Iowa – TRAVEL ON the ocean liner, S.S. American, in a witty romantic comedy this March as Iowa City Community Theatre presents ANYTHING GOES by Cole Porter, with music direction by Wes Habley, and staging by Evan Hilsabeck and Joshua Holmes, MARCH 3--12, 2017.

This musical brings the idea of a complicated relationship to life, while throwing in several twists and turns along the way.

THE STORY: S. S. American is sailing between New York and England with a comically colorful assemblage of passengers: Reno Sweeney, a popular nightclub singer, her pal Billy Crocker, a lovelorn Wall Street broker who has come aboard to try to win the favor of his beloved Hope Harcourt (who is engaged to another passenger, Sir Evelyn Oakleigh), and a second-rate conman named Moonface Martin. Song, dance, and farcical antics ensue as Reno and Moonface try to help Billy win the love of his life.
