Bandits homestand begins Thursday with Clinton
The River Bandits return to Modern Woodmen Park on Thursday, April 20th for the start of a seven-game homestand with the Clinton Lumberkings and Peoria Chiefs. The homestand includes Thirst-day Thursday, Halfway to Halloween Night, fireworks, Irish Heritage Day, a sunglasses giveaway, pregame autographs, Kids Run the Bases, Bark in the Park, United Healthcare Family Day, Brews and Brats, Education Day and a Blu-Ray DVD Player giveaway.
The opening game of the homestand on April 20th is Thirst-day Thursday where fans can come out to the ballpark to enjoy $2 beer and soda specials. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. against the Clinton Lumberkings.
Friday, April 21st is Halfway to Halloween Night with Goodwill of the Heartland and Fireworks Friday presented by Smart Toyota of Quad Cities. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m against Clinton so enter if you dare. The River Bandits will be celebrating Halloween early this year with an appearance from Factory of Fear courtesy of Goodwill of the Heartland. Beware of spooky decorations, zombies, ghouls, ghosts, and more. Post-game fireworks will end the night sponsored by Smart Toyota of the Quad Cities.
Saturday, April 22nd is a sunglasses giveaway and Irish Heritage Day presented by 7G Distributors. Game three against Clinton will begin at 1:15 p.m. Celebrate the Irish Heritage with your River Bandits by enjoying Irish step dancing performed by Mayer School of Irish Dance, a harp performance, Black Hawk Pipes & Drums, the Irish band Exorna both pregame and post-game, and more. Make sure to get to the park early to experience it all and be one of the first 1,000 people through the gates to receive a pair of sunglasses. Every SaturYAY! at the ballpark will feature giveaways, balloons, entertainment and more!
Sunday, April 23rd features pregame autographs, kids run the bases, Bark in the Park, and United Healthcare Family Day. Gates open at 12:15 p.m. for a 1:15 p.m. first pitch. It’s the first United Health Care Family Sunday of the season; United Health Care members will receive a special discount ticket every Sunday. Don’t leave the pooch at home on Sunday, bring them to the park for Bark in the Park presented by B-100. Also, fans will be able to meet the players for pregame autographs starting at 12:30 while kids will have the chance to run the bases after the game, sponsored by Prairie Farms.
Monday, April 24th is Brews and Brats Monday and Indonesian Millionaire night. The Bandits welcome the Peoria Chiefs to town for a 6:35 p.m. start. Every Monday at the ballpark is a Brews and Brats Monday with all premium brews and brats just $3 each. Also, fans will have multiple chances through out the night to become an Indonesian millionaire.
Tuesday, April 25th is Baseball in Education Day. The Bandits and Chiefs have an early start time of 11:00 a.m. Participants in the Bandits Book Buddies Program are encouraged to spend their day at the ballpark to learn the importance of reading. Every Tuesday is also Dew for Twosday, so bring an empty Mountain Dew bottle or can to the box office to receive a voucher for a free drink at the concession stand, limit one per fan. All Military Personnel and their families receive $1 bleacher tickets with a valid Military ID every Tuesday, excluding July 4th.
Wednesday, April 26th is a Blu-Ray DVD Player Giveaway. The Bandits close their homestand with a 6:35 p.m. start against Peoria. The first winning Wednesday of the season starts off with a bang with a Mega Blu-Ray DVD player being given away each inning.
