Bettendorf, IA, February 15, 2017 - Congratulations Benjamin Nordick, son of Gary and Christina Nordick of Milan, and Emilia Porubcin, daughter of Michal and Chae Hee Porubcin of Coal Valley, for being named Finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program competition. Finalists have the opportunity to receive scholarships in 2017 through the National Merit Scholarship Program.

The National Merit® Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. High school students enter the National Merit Program in their junior year by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®) —a test which serves as an initial screen of approximately 1.6 million entrants each year—and by meeting published program entry and participation requirements.
