DAVENPORT, IOWA (January 16, 2020) — Tickets are on sale now to the public for a February 8 concert starring country-music standout Granger Smith. The concert is sponsored by the St Ambrose University Campus Activities Board (CAB) and will be the first music show staged inside the O’Rourke Fieldhouse in the Wellness and Recreation Center.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 27, 2019) — Nobel Laureate Leymeh Gbowee will provide the keynote address for the 16th annual Ambrose Women for Social Justice Conference, “War and Peace: Gender and Justice” on September 24 at the Rogalski Center of St Ambrose University.

DAVENPORT —A variety of speakers and topics will be presented at St Ambrose University this spring.

The ongoing debate over the effectiveness of UN peace-operations will be the focus of the 2019 Wilber Symposium on the Christian Tradition and Non-Violence.

On March 21, SAU professor and director of the International Studies program, Duk Kim, PhD, will present the lecture: “An Agenda for Peace in the 21st Century: Do Peacekeepers Really Keep Peace?”

DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 15, 2019) — Quad-Citians can learn more about the impact immigration policies and detention have on real families and ways they can advocate for social justice at the February 20 panel discussion, “Justice and Immigration: Catholic Responses to Detention” at St Ambrose University (SAU).

DAVENPORT – St. Ambrose University will host scholars from across the world in an academic exploration of its namesake saint, Saint Ambrose of Milan, beginning this afternoon, Friday April 6, and concluding on Sunday, April 8.

More than 40 scholars from all over the world will present research and dialogue during the three-day conference, “St. Ambrose of Milan: (Re-)Constructing Community.”

Four events are free and open to the public and the media.

Silent March to Remember

When: Tuesday, Jan. 16, 1-2 p.m.

Where: The silent march will begin at the lower entrance to Cosgrove Hall, located next to Ambrose Hall off of West Locust Street. Ambrosians will march four blocks to civil rights marker at the corner of 11th and Ripley Streets in Davenport, near the site of the former Toney’s Barber and Beauty Shop.
