GREEN PARTY CANDIDATE RUNNING IN THE 17TH CONGRESSIONAL

Quad Cities - The Illinois Green Party has another congressional candidate, and his name is Troy Dennis. Mr. Dennis is a resident of Mount Zion, IL where he has worked as a restaurateur and small business owner in logistics.

Mr. Dennis is the only opponent against incumbent Phil Hare. Mr. Dennis is an informed citizen who is tired of the whole system. I am tired of the pandering, lip service, corruption, disregard for the constitution, and the destruction of ideals. Mr. Dennis has a website, which is www.troydennis2008.com. Mr. Dennis is also not taking PACs, lobby money, or corporate contributions.

Umphrey's McGee is a progressive rock/jam band from South Bend, Indiana whose music is often referred to as "progressive improvisation." In July 2004, the band was declared by Rolling Stone Magazine to "have become odds-on favorites in the next-Phish sweepstakes."

Though the band's approach to their live performances has much in common with Phish and the Grateful Dead (ever-changing setlists, constant improvisation, two sets per night, open-taping policy), they are much more influenced musically by progressive rock bands such as King Crimson, Yes, Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Frank Zappa, and Genesis, as well as heavy metal bands such as Iron Maiden. The band also "identifies The Police, The Beatles, The Monkees, Nick D'Virgilio, and Led Zeppelin as primary influences with a reverence the members describe as 'Biblical.'" However, there really isn't a style of popular music that Umphrey's does not cover. Artists covered in concert by Umphrey's range from Lionel Richie to Metallica to Toto to Snoop Dogg to Paul Simon to Radiohead to The Rolling Stones.- wikipedia

Umphrey’s McGee recently announced that they will be playing the famous Bonnaroo Festival for the 5th consecutive year. The band will be playing in top billing alongside such heavyweights as Pearl Jam, Metallica, Jack Johnson, Kayne West and Robert Plant. The band also announced their addition to the Summer Camp festival in May, where they will be playing alongside The Flaming Lips.

“Umphrey’s McGee combines crisp song construction and vocal-harmony sunlight with a high-speed, improvised daring onstage.”- Rolling Stone

In the military, we always make sure we never leave a man behind.   But in society, we are quick to jeapordize the individual for the greater good of the collective!   In a Democracy, the majority is always right, and the laws reflect their will.   But is a majority of people always right, or is that really just mob rule?   Our Federal Constitution under Article IV Section 4, guarentees each state in the union a Republican form of Government, not a Democracy.   A Republic is a Government of laws, not of men.   Laws created in order to ensure protection to the individual, not a group.   In a Republic, society never leaves a citizen behind!   No one can infringe on the Individual's rights to Life, Liberty or Property so long as he/she allows the same respect for others.   Here is a Freedom Creed I believe every American should hold close to their heart, for it is the only belief that ensures that we never leave a man behind again!
